November 6, 2007 (Tokyo, Japan)-CA Mobile, Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Yuzuru Sotokawa), headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and Acrodea, Inc. (CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, announced today the joint rollout of a server-side VIVID UI generator that employs Acrodea's VIVID UI middleware technology, principally for official mobile sites across a diverse range of business domains.
VIVID UI is a user interface platform developed by Acrodea for mobile phones, and represents innovative middleware that can integrate various types of multimedia content, such as 3D graphics, animation, and video. VIVID UI enables mobile phones that can be readily customized with graphically enhanced menus and standby screens that were previously unattainable.
Moreover, VIVID UI has been adopted as fundamental technology for Onajimi Sosa of Softbank Mobile Co., Ltd. VIVID UI has also been implemented in the "KDDI Common Platform (KCP)", the common platform for au mobile phone applications at KDDI, Inc., and to NTT DoCoMo handsets partially since the 903i/703i series, and now fully, starting with the standardized implementation for the 905i series. Terminals implemented with VIVID UI will continue to be released successively.
The server-side VIVID UI generator enables dynamic generation of VIVID UI content on the server side.
As an initial effort, CA Mobile and Acrodea will begin, effective today, an offering of Kisekae Design Studio at unimo, the kisekae tool service portal for NTT DoCoMo i-mode operated by CA Mobile.
With Kisekae Design Studio, subscribers can upload a photograph to the server by attaching it to a blank email. Then standby screens, menu screens, call dialing and call receiving screens, and email transmission and reception screens can be downloaded as Kisekae tools. In the near future, preferred battery and signal level indicators, and various templates with assorted standby screens and menu screens will become available for selecting. These templates will be added successively.
By leveraging the strengths at each company, CA Mobile and Acrodea will continue joint business development of a variety of operations into the future by employing the server-side VIVID UI generator.
