December 4, 2007 (Tokyo, Japan)—Implemented with VIVID UI and VIVID Movie developed by Acrodea, Inc. (CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, the 905i model series mobile phones of NTT DoCoMo, Inc., headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo (CEO and President: Masao Nakamura) have been released.
The NTT DoCoMo 905i series, consisting of the P905i (manufactured by Panasonic Mobile Communications), the SH905i (manufactured by Sharp), N905 (manufactured by NEC), the D905i (manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric), the F905i (manufactured by Fujitsu), and the SO905 (manufactured by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications) model handsets were implemented accordingly and released.
These models mark the first releases under the master license agreement announced in August 2007, whereby Acrodea’s VIVID UI and VIVID Movie were sublicensed from NTT DoCoMo to the terminal manufacturers for implementation to all models. In addition, a common UI platform for NTT DoCoMo has been developed jointly to enable extensions. With the extensibility, subscribers can make use of superior UI content.
Moreover, plans call for newly augmenting the Kisekae Tool® provided by NTT DoCoMo with the Kisekae Tool UI Creator to support UI design work, developed on the basis of Acrodea’s authoring tool. UI content for each 905i series handset model can be created with this tool. Consequently, subscribers will gain access to many UI menu designs with a wealth of expression and range in variety. In addition to changing the appearances of menu screens, customization can extend to operability, such as shuffling the display of frequently accessed menus.
Additional terminals implemented with VIVID UI and VIVID Movie are planned for release in December and beyond.
