Acrodea’s middleware Emoji Lite implemented, Released on SH006 (made by Sharp) by au
First implementation to au handset, adopted as “Smart Emoji”

March 5, 2010 (Tokyo, Japan)—Acrodea, Inc. (President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo has gained adoption of its middleware Emoji Lite as “Smart Emoji” to au’s mobile handset SH-006 (made by Sharp), the first implementation of Emoji Lite to an au mobile handset.

Emoji Lite

Acrodea’s Emoji Lite comprises middleware that enables bulk conversion of conventional, plain text to picture-font enriched text with the press of a single key. Upon analysis of the text input by a user and referencing a dictionary file, the solution inserts picture fonts automatically to the text message, and parts of the text are automatically converted to picture fonts.*

The user simply presses the conversion key once, and picture fonts are automatically inserted in various combinations. Anyone can easily create email filled with picture fonts with the feature.

*Dictionary files contain the data necessary for conversion with Emoji Lite.

Since its first implementation in December 2008, Emoji Lite has been implemented to 17 handset models, cumulative, with the current implementation to the SH006 from au. Acrodea intends to expand distribution, and to pursue further development for entertaining and convenient Emoji Lite upgrade versions.
