| Comment | Welcome from Yoshio Kuniyoshi, Executive Vice President of Acrodea: ARM’s Mali graphics solution offers remarkable performance characteristics with respect to power consumption and anti-aliasing, for instance. I recognize this superior GPU core as the most broadly licensed technology for OpenGL ES 2.0 support. In the embedded-devices domain that encompasses mobile handsets, set-top boxes, IPTV hardware, and PND’s, the requirement for on-screen 3D expressions to fulfill dynamic, rich user experiences will grow, and the success of the Mali graphics solution appears to be quite promising. At Acrodea, we have focused on the programmable shader function held by OpenGL ES 2.0 for some time, and have pursued graphics expressions that outperform elementary 3D rendering. Our SDK for sophisticated mobile games, X-FORGE® was developed partly in response to this shader function’s availability, and we are extremely pleased in our current demo effort that amply extracts rendering capability held by the Mali graphics solution. Acrodea will continue to place efforts in developing middleware that can extract maximum performance from graphics hardware, and looks forward to strong, cooperating relations with ARM, which we expect will lead to improved middleware products. |
